Your first life
Every life begins with a few choices. After that, you decide year by year what happens.
Create your character
Choose woman, man or non-binary, a first and last name and your look. Pick the district you come from and roll your talents in Driving, Lockpicking, Hacking, Fighting and Charm. Then choose when your life starts: as a baby, as a child at 6 or 12, as a teenager at 16 or as an adult at 18.
Your phone is the game
Everything runs through a phone in the AgencyOS look. The home screen shows your Health, Mood and Respect, your money and how much of it is dirty, your Wanted level, today's task and your Life Goal. Every app stands for a part of your life, from Jobs to Flirt.
One year is one day
In Agency City every year is one day. It starts at eight in the morning, and at two at night the next year begins, with the next season. Hold down Go to Sleep to start the next year right away. The year report then shows your income, your costs and what happened.
Messages and decisions
Almost a hundred events can happen in a life: offers, trouble, love and luck. They arrive in Messages with choices, and whatever you pick has consequences.
Health, Mood and Respect
Health drops with age, injuries, prison and illness. An illness can come in any year and costs health every year until it is treated, at the doctor, in a clinic, with therapy or, for chronic illnesses, with medication. If you neglect your health, you can die. Mood rises with free time, love and success. Respect opens doors on the street and in politics, and your Wanted level shows how close the police are.
Time machines
A year went badly? A time machine turns back the last year. You get one every day from the daily task, you can watch a video once a day for a free time travel, and there are packs of 3 or 10 in the shop.
When a life ends
Every life ends at some point, through age, illness or the street. Once per life a second chance can bring you back, as long as you are not too old. After that you can continue as one of your children, and what they inherit depends on your will. Each save slot is its own family: three at once, six with the Boss Pass.
